Fire can take a dreadful toll, Turning forest into coal, Killing cattle on the way, Leaving birds no place to stay. Homes and crops go up in smoke! People in the ashes poke. Smoke is heavy in the air Adding insult to despair. Cleansing rain is what they need, And a chance to plant more seed. Though it was a rotten deal, Given time, the land will heal | ||
