Civility

May I not suspicious be
Of the people that I see.
May I trust their good intent!
They are not on evil bent.
May I not refuse their aid
Or their kindness oft displayed.
May I not disdain their plight
If they are a sorry sight.
May I always patient be,
Acting with civility.
If I would not be a fool,
I must live the Golden Rule.
