Lost Balls

If a ball should disappear
When the kids invade a game
We should never shed a tear
Or attempt to pass out blame.
Lost balls are a risk we take
When the toddlers are around.
It would be a great mistake
To assume all balls are found.
Any day throughout our life
Something prized may disappear.
Even when there is no strife
We can lose what we hold dear.
