Ripe Fruit | ||
| We, like fruit, are ripe, then not. It is hard to find the spot When we are our very best, Ready to pass any test. There's a lengthy time in which We will hardly miss a stitch. Is the best still yet to come? We may beat another drum. Though we've physically declined, We may yet expand our mind. When we're faced with the reverse, It will be, alas, much worse. | ||
