Urban Sprawl

Buildings hugging every hill
Spread the city's narrow floor.
They can exercise their will,
Always finding room for more.
Birds and monkeys have to move
As the urban sprawl expands.
They must find another groove
On the higher, steeper lands.
Let us hope the buildings stay
Firmly rooted in the rain.
If the rocks above give way,
They could start a deadly chain.
