| Blessed assurance that Jesus is near, Ready to comfort our anguish and fear, Graciously taking our sins as his own, Giving compassion to hearts made of stone. Praise be to God for the infinite grace Ready at all times to rain on our face. Haltingly we try to comfort a loss When in life's path a disaster will cross. Who knows what suff'ring a heart can endure When it is backed by a faith that is pure. Blessed assurance that Jesus won't fail, Even if we should be tossed by a gale. | ||
