Albert the Camel | ||
Albert the camel is in quite a slump, Now that he found purple moss on his hump. He has no clue how it came to be there, But it has left him in deepest despair. Friends tell him moss on the hump looks just fine. Albert says he isn't buying that line. He fears because he appears so unique All his companions will call him a freak. Albert says he will develop a plan To shed the moss if he possibly can. First he decided to soak in the lake. Maybe six hours is what it would take. Patiently soaking, he sat there all day, But purple moss seemed to be there to stay. "Hmmm," said the camel, "I might try a brush." Soon he was scrubbing, but moss wouldn't crush. Then he inquired of a curious bird, "You, friend, are helpful, that's what I have heard, Wouldn't you like to eat some of this moss? My hump is itching and making me cross." "Sorry," said bird, "I can see you're upset, but if I eat it a rash I will get." Albert had run out of things he could try. While bird was watching he started to cry. "Say," said the bird, "I know just what to do. I've a suggestion to camouflage you. Take a short journey downstream in a boat. There is a store that will sell you a coat." Albert said "Thanks, bird," and downstream he went, Finding a coat in the place he was sent. It was a large one with many bright hues, Just what he needed to get rid of blues. With his hump hidden, and also the moss, Albert no longer felt ugly and cross. Now with his confidence fully restored, He knew that patience can bring a reward. | ||
