News

News has got a short half-life.
Quickly it's no longer news.
Now we hear of fire and strife
And we quiver in our shoes.
When a day or two is past
It appears so stale and cold.
News can never truly last;
It becomes so quickly old.
Why, then, is it worth our time
To indulge in day by day?
We should heed a nobler chime
That will never fade away.
