Weeping Willow | ||
Why weepest thou, o willow tree? Thou needst not shed a tear for me. I am a spirit blithe and free And soon must bid farewell to thee. Thou shedst thy tears into the brook Where people see them if they look. Thou art as lovely as a book! I am so glad thy path I took. Perhaps thou mournst for days of yore When pioneers would oft explore, Or wagons roll up to one's door. Perchance I've come this way before. | ||
