But thanks to years of steady toil The fount of knowledge starts to oil. We know the rules, and books and dreams Of people known as the Essenes. Their life was celibate, devout, Though scholars disagree and doubt. We thank their scribes who patiently Inscribed the scrolls for us to see. | ||
