The wall of granite seeks the sky, Content that it can reach so high. It sees the busy world go by And sometimes thinks that it could cry. Through sun and rain, through hot and cold, The slab retains its visage bold. It seems it never will grow old Or see its many secrets told. Its massive bulk remains aloof Above each human house and roof As it to give them mute reproof That they are prone to err and goof. | ||
