I walked into a lonely room And met a lonely man. I knew that I must pierce the gloom In every way one can. I asked him "What is troubling you?" "I'm widowed," he replied. I said, "You've had a blow, that's true, Because your wife has died." I knew that words would not console So I just held his hand. He said, "You're soothing to my soul. I'm glad you understand." | ||
