Snow

Snow has come while we were gone,
Drifting softly down upon
Every neighbor's home and lawn.
'Tis so peaceful lying there
Like a solemn silent prayer,
Helping hearts to be aware.
We are glad the shov'ling's done.
That would not be any fun.
When snow's packed it weighs a ton.
Though the first snow came and went
Yet is not the winter spent.
Who can dream of its intent?
