The slanting sun of afternoon Sends pale and peaceful rays. The graceful heron and the loon Are mirrored in the bays. The tasseled grass is waving tall And happy in the breeze. The leaves have not begun to fall. They'll do so when they please. The sand is soft beneath their feet Except for scattered shells. The salty air is smelling sweet From foamy ocean swells. | ||
