Hawaiian Bird | ||
The shama with its feathers bright Is boldly standing on a rock. It does not fear or take to flight As hikers tall its pathway block. The streamside trail is seldom trod, And sometimes seems to disappear. The roots and rocks that line the sod Do not permit a pathway clear. Erosion steep has left a bluff That makes it difficult to pass. By clutching roots with huff and puff We make it back to knee-high grass. Although the hike was not a breeze We came back down with greater ease. | ||
