The River | ||
The river is so wide and deep It knows full well to secrets keep. It flows and laps the distant shore As if it were a simple chore. It's seen the people come and go. It's felt the heat and drifting snow. The river hears the thunderbolt And gentle neighing of a colt. It smiles when fishes find a meal And listens to the angler's reel. On one thing it is resolute: It hates the people who pollute. | ||
