Peggy the Dinosaur | ||
| Peggy the dinosaur had her own bed. She liked to sleep and pretend she was dead. One day the boys woke her up for a joke. Out of her ears she shot angry black smoke. "I was just dreaming so nicely," she said, "Chasing some dogs that were purple and red. Andrew and Christopher thought that quite odd. They got her up so that off they could plod. Soon they encountered a bird in its nest, Chirping so merrily after its rest. Little aware that behind it a cat Crept up to catch it because it was fat. Peggy, the flame-throwing dinosaur pink Shot out her fire just as quick as a wink. Quickly the cat leapt away in great fear, Never returning for many a year. "Thank you so much," said the bird in the nest. "I must confess I am greatly impressed." "You are most welcome," the dinosaur said. "Join us this morning; you've nothing to dread." Bird led the way through the dense forest path. Then came a shower to give them a bath. When they encountered a stream that was wide, Boys popped on Peggy to get a dry ride. Bird then flew down with a twitter of fear. "Careful, my friends, a mean snake is quite near." Andrew and Christopher both turned so pale When that great viper appeared on the trail. Peggy flicked out a hot flame at the boa, Scaring it slithering back to Samoa. Peggy and boys went along on their walk Till they discovered a giant beanstalk. Peggy decided to chew it in half Since it was right in the midst of the path. Just then a giant climbed angrily down, Bellowing loudly and wearing a frown. Peggy directed a flame at his feet. Then he decided to beat a retreat. Andrew and Christopher breathed a great sigh. They were both happy the giant did fly. Then they decided to look for a snack. Birdie soon led them to corn on a rack. Peggy the dinosaur roasted it well So they would have one more story to tell. It was delicious and when they were done They all went swimming and had lots of fun. Then they returned to their house for a rest, Glad that pink Peggy could still be their guest. | ||
