Tigers

Christopher climbed to the top of the hill,
Looking for dragons to give him a thrill.
High in a tree he espied a large bird.
Perching and peering, he said not a word.
Flapping his wings he took off from his bed,
Leaving some droppings on Christopher's head.
"Hey," the boy said, "that was not very nice.
I thought that you wanted to give me advice."
Wiping his head, Christopher went on his way.
Soon he discovered the tigers at play.
Each one was chasing the other one's tail,
Running around a small fence with a rail.
When they got tired they sat down for a rest.
Looking at Christopher, they smiled their best.
"Are you ferocious?" he asked with some fear.
"Not in the slightest. We're glad that you're here."
"Hop on my back," said one tiger with pride.
"Then I can take you around for a ride."
Christopher said he would gladly hop on
If they won't eat him, so off they were gone.
Judy and Jack were the two tigers' names.
They played with Christopher all kind of games.
They enjoyed leapfrog and hide-and-go-seek,
Climbing some trees and then jumping the creek.
Judy and Jack could jump farther than Chris.
Into the water he fell with a squish.
"Too bad," the tigers said. "Dry in the sun.
Then we can look for some different fun."
Christopher said "I cannot stay so late.
I must go home 'cause my parents await."
"Come back again" the two tigers both said.
"Tell your folks here there is nothing to dread."
Christopher told Mom and Dad of the day.
They were quite doubtful but smiled anyway.
