A Fish Tale | ||
Christopher went out to fish, Hoping he would get his wish. Soon he got a little bite, Then he pulled his line up tight. But a larger fish nearby Caught the fishie on the sly. Then an even larger fish Took the first two for his dish. Christopher said, "This is great. I caught three fish on one bait." But before he got them out Came a whale with blowing spout. Suddenly his jaws went snap. All the fish were in his trap. Christopher cried out in fear As the monster whale came near. Then it flipped the fragile boat, Sending Christopher afloat. Christopher swam fast to shore, Vowing he would fish no more. But the whale burped loud and clear, Spitting out a fish quite near. That fish and the next burped, too, Knowing not what else to do. Christopher's eyes opened wide When he saw his fish inside. That fish flew up on the beach Right within his easy reach. Running home he gave a yell: "Mom, I've quite a tale to tell!" | ||
