Mother | ||
Mother gave me room to be A son with an identity. She read to me when I was small And rescued me from every fall. She washed and mended all my clothes And helped me stanch a bloody nose. She taught me words to make me wise And comforted my painful cries. She tucked me in my cozy bed And took me to the park to sled. Her tasty meals could not be beat. The recipes were quite a treat. She helped me choose to do what's right And persevere with all my might. She oft forgave my selfish ways, Yet built me up with constant praise. Her values kept me in good stead. I still conserve them in my head. She took me many sights to see And helped me seek humility. She gave me faith in God above And taught me how to share His love. | ||
