Accident | ||
The diver dons his mask and tank. He scrambles down the shore. The dive is off the riverbank, As he has done before. He glides and sinks down 30 feet And sits upon the bed. Of all the objects he could meet There's one he spies with dread. He sees a car a-lying there All smashed and dripping red. The driver didn't have a prayer; The crash had left her dead. The diver gently pried the door And freed the grisly form. He took her quickly back to shore And hastened to get warm. The family of the girl was there, Sad and broken-hearted. They sad it was indeed unfair The girl had thus departed. | ||
